Twitter has me thinking so at least.
Mia Michaels posted a tweet yesterday that read “I AM OFFICIALLY AN ADORING FAN OF SYTYCD….THANK U FOR 5 WONDERFUL YRS.”
She then posted two more all within the same hour that read “TO CREATE MOMENTS AND MOVEMENT FOR THE WORLD TO SHARE WITH ME WAS A GIFT…..” and “THANKS SYTYCD AND LOOK FORWARD TO WHATS AHEAD FOR ME…LOOKOUT WORLD!!!!!”
Apparently, she announced this as well on her Facebook page yesterday saying that “Today was my official resignation of the U.S. show.”
Michaels won two Emmys for choreography on the show. The first was for “Calling You” in 2007 and the second was for “Mercy” which she won this year.
What an unfortunate loss for SYTYCD. Even though, there are other inspiring and moving choreographers out there who I’m sure can fill her place. One possible woman in my book is Emily Shock, choreographer of Teddy Tedholm’s audition to “If It Kills Me” this year.
I wish the best of luck to Michaels (even though she doesn’t need it). She had a good run on the show, made her name known to a lot more people, and even won awards. It’s amazing the fame that comes from reality television these days.
